benny
Good Evening, I am working on a project involving a short free fall followed by an impact. I have the MPU-6050 all wired and the offsets have been calculated. That being said, despite the sensitivity I select, I cannot get the acceleration to go to zero when in free fall. When stationary, the accelerometer reads 1g, but in free fall, it is consistently 0.5g. The code I am using is the standard raw data that Jeff posted on GitHub (Thank you by the way!). I would greatly appreciate any insight! Ben Edit: It seems that the MPU-6050 itself was bad. When I used a different accelerometer, the problem cleared itself. Very weird, but seemed to do the trick. benny
Quick update. It seems that when I flip the accelerometer upside down, I get a reading of 0g. So is there any reason my sensitivity is half of what it should be? aka right side up is about 16384 for raw values, but upside down is 0, but should be -16384. I can adjust my post processing to account for this, but that seems like a bad idea. Thanks.
